The Flip Video Camera is a lot more popular than the similar but lower-priced RCA Small Wonder. But it’s not packed with a lot more features.

You get what you pay for, and if you don’t want to pay a lot for a video camera the Small Wonder from RCA and the Flip are fine.

Don’t expect stunning quality. Specifically, users have found the Small Wonder is a bit funky on indoor shoots, with a reddish tinge. The Flip performs a bit better in low light conditions, and each does a nice job outdoors.
And the Flip video software for editing is better than Small Wonder’s.
The RCA Small Wonder offers a sharper, adjustable LCD monitor. It also offers an SD/MMC expansion slot.
When you zoom with the Flip video camera you get a clicking sound, something which doesn’t happen with the Small Wonder.
Key benefits for both the Flip Video Ultra Camcorder and the RCA Small Wonder EZ2901: size and ease of use. One touch recording. Simple editing tools. Plug the USB into your PC and you’re in business. Each runs for roughly two hours on two AA Alkaline batteries. Each stores either 30 or 60 minutes of VGA-quality video on the internal memory depending on the quality you shoot.
But manage your expectations. Right now the Flip Video and the RCA Small Wonder aren’t far up the food chain from a cell phone camera.
